Types of Memberships

Certified Member

Anyone who has attended a CSM or CSPO course can join the Scrum Alliance.  Certified Membership is free for the first two years with current certification. After that, you can renew your certification for another two years as a CSM or CSPO by meeting the current re-certification guidelines.

Basic Member

We welcome everyone to join the Scrum Alliance community. Our Basic Membership level offers individuals who aren't Scrum Certified access to sections of our website that aren't available to the general public, including an expanded profile, case-studies, and the ability to comment on and participate in article discussions.

Basic members also enjoy discounts at certain Scrum Alliance-sponsored events and receive a monthly newsletter packed with the latest industry information. Sign up today and receive a two-year subscription for only $100 USD.

Become a Member Today!

Membership in the Scrum Alliance is offered to graduates of our CSM and CSPO courses, Certified Scrum Developers, Certified Scrum Professionals, Certified Scrum Coaches, and Certified Scrum Trainers. For CSM and CSPO courses, membership fees are paid by your trainer for the first two years,* however renewal and advanced certification fees are your responsibility.

Where do those fees go? Since 2008, the Scrum Alliance has been a tax-exempt organization under IRS code 501(c)(6) as a business league/professional association. As such, we do not profit from your membership fees. Instead, they go toward hosting Gatherings, running this website, supporting local user groups, and funding outreach and education throughout the world.

We also offer a basic membership for individuals who aren't Scrum certified. It provides access to an expanded profile, case studies, and other materials. Basic members also enjoy discounts at certain Scrum Alliance events and receive our monthly newsletter.  

* Course attendees must be approved for certification by the instructor to be eligible for Certified Membership privileges.
