Laura Howley is a Certified ScrumMaster and Product owner with the Scrum Alliance and has been actively practicing Scrum for over four years. At CollabNet, she works with a diverse range of clients from large semi-conductors to small web start-ups, helping them move from traditional workflows to more Agile practices. She comes from a project management background at web startups and the fortune 100 bank, JPMorganChase. She graduated to a sales role at JPMorganChase and while the experience was invaluable, she eventually found herself wanting to learn some new gymnastics for her brain. Enter Danube in 2007, who posted an imaginative and brain-teasing job on Craigslist, which Laura responded to, thinking," I don't care what I do, I just want to work for a company that hires people like this." Danube was an Agile services and tooling company acquired by CollabNet in 2010. Danube introduced Laura to Scrum and she was profoundly moved by its message and capabilities. In practice, she couldn't imagine a better way of working. Danube incorporated the principles and practices of Scrum into all elements of its operations from software development to sales. Learning from the practices that were so successful at Danube, Laura now helps other organizations transform their workplaces into fully Agile operations. Laura is especially interested in working with organizations that desire to spread Agile practices beyond software development, creating purposeful, effective and successful organizations in which autonomy, delivery and a welcome attitute toward change are valued across the entire organization.
